When we fit new hearing aids, we place two types of wax guards in the instruments, which helps reduce the chance of damage due to cerumen and body soils. Our service plan is designed to cover minor service, cleaning and adjustment, which is a great value over the life of the hearing instruments. We encourage our patients to visit our office every three to six month for regular cleaning and adjustments; the length of the time interval is determined by the amount of cerumen each individual produces.
Over a two to three year time frame, hearing instruments can become gradually weak from the earwax and body soils they encounter. Our service plan not only helps to keep the instruments clean and trouble free, but it is also designed to spot the gradual weakness and compensate for it by adjusting the instruments program parameters to bring it back up to proper working order. The weakness is sometimes so gradual that the patient might think it is their hearing that has changed when in fact it might be a sign that the instruments are getting weak and out of adjustment.
It is important to have a local provider to maintain your hearing instruments and give continual follow-up care. Our service plan adds great value over-the-life of the hearing instruments by insuring that your hearing aids are working properly and helping you to hear your family and friends on a continual basis.
